Buses from Kunming West Bus Station (昆明西部客运站) take about 4-5 hours and ticket price around 148 CNY per person, and will bring you to Xingsheng Bus Station, Xiaguan (下关兴盛客运站, Dali New City)

To Xizhou Town

By bus

Take bus 23 to North Xiaguan Station (下关北站), and take Xizhou (喜洲) bus.

Cost: 9(2+7) CNY per person

Price is negotiable and is between 150 CNY and 200 CNY.

By Train

There are several night trains from Kunming to Dali Train Station (下关, Dali New City, Tel: +86 872 3146161/3146191) leaving 21:00-23:00, and arriving from 5-8 hr later. The cost is 105 CNY per person for a night trains sleeper bunk, and 64 CNY per person for day trains hard seat.

There are currently (2015) at least 6 trains daily from Lijiang to Dali. The ride takes nearly 2 hours and cost 34 CNY per person for hard seat.

To Xizhou Town

By bus

Take bus 8 to North Xiaguan Station (下关北站), and take Xizhou (喜洲) bus.

By Plane

Dali Airport (大理机场; IATA: DLU) is located to the east of Xiaguan (下关, Dali New City). Direct flights include Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Kunming, and Xishuangbanna. There are no airport buses. Taxis are always waiting.

To Xizhou Town

By bus

Take airport bus to train station, take bus 8 to North Xiaguan Station (下关北站), and take Xizhou (喜洲) bus.

Cost: 19(10+2+7) CNY per person

Take approximately 2.5hrs

By taxi

Price is negotiable and is between 200 CNY and 250 CNY
